NOT SMART
Sometimes a politician says something so outrageous it gets your attention. A recently elected New York congressman Jamaal Bowman said, “I believe our current system of capitalism is slavery by another name.” Next time you’re shopping at Costco, think if that experience reminds you of slavery. How about when you’re buying something from Amazon – convenience or slavery? This misguided soul soon to be is the newest member of the “squad”, a group of four radical progressives that includes Ilhan Omar, the Somali immigrant who represents a congressional district in Minneapolis that includes a neighborhood known as Little Mogadishu. She wants to neuter the police, raise taxes to confiscatory levels and heap additional funding on welfare recipients. She describes America as a horrible place and strongly advocates socialism. I often wonder if she likes socialism so much, why she didn’t immigrate to Cuba instead of the U.S.? Of course, we know the answer. She and her ilk speak nonsense when they denigrate free markets and capitalism.
