REPARATIONS

Here in Minnesota, the legislature recently passed a law legalizing marijuana. Apparently, certain of our population make extensive use of the weed, and they have experienced a high incidence of arrest and convictions for marijuana crimes. That will end with the new law. All prior misdemeanors will be expunged from the record and a Cannabis Expungement Board will be established to review felony cases. If you want to become a marijuana dealer, “social equity” criteria will be given a preference.

A new program will award $15 million annually to communities who have high concentrations of people who were convicted of a marijuana offense. This money will supposedly alleviate harm done by marijuana prohibition and the war on drugs. The new law has been hailed as a way to provide reparations.
