to sell or not to sell
I received a letter recently from a long-time client who reminded me that I promised to tell him and others when I sold my silver. Back in 1980, I sold my silver for almost $50 an ounce. Over the next 30 years, I managed to buy another quantity. I am still holding this silver and don’t plan to sell it any time soon. However, I reserve the right to change my mind if the price gets crazy. If I am still writing my newsletter at the time, I will certainly mention any sale.
Let’s face it, a number of people have sold their silver recently. Some have switched into gold because of silver’s bulk. Making the decision to sell is difficult, particularly when silver advocates are talking $100 silver or even $300 silver. If it gets too high, it would be prudent to at least sell some. For me personally, I can’t think of a better asset to own than silver. So, it will take a crazy high price before I decide to sell. However, there is no assurance or certainty that silver will go shockingly high. So, in that sense, everybody is on their own in making their final decision on when to sell.
