FREE STUFF

The more free stuff government gives away the more money they create out of thin air to pay for it.  The more money they print the higher goes the cost of living – which makes everyone poorer.  The poorer everyone gets the more they qualify for free stuff from the government.  The more free stuff they give away the more money they print, ad infinitum.

This year the government will spend two billion dollars providing free cell phones for 10 million people.  You qualify if you get any of the following government programs:  Medicaid, food stamps, public housing, supplemental security income, home energy assistance (including air conditioning), Section 8 housing, and some of the other 2,200 Federal Assistance programs (yes 2,200).  No proof is needed and you get 250 free minutes each month to go with the phone.

Illegal aliens also qualify for the free phones. The program is plagued with fraud.  Approximately 200,000 Puerto Ricans alone have fraudulent accounts.  The largest company in the free phone business is owned by the world’s richest man, Carlos Slim.  The FCC likes this fast growing program so much they are next planning to pay for free Internet service and provide mostly free computers.

The government pays this $2 billion phone bill by borrowing one billion.  That means they have to borrow the money to pay for 5 million free cell phones.  Each year they will have to borrow at least a billion more and pay fifty million in interest on each billion borrowed.  So ten years from now they will be paying hundreds of millions of interest on loans for ten year old free cell phone service.  And this is one of the tiniest welfare programs.  You couldn’t make it up if you tried.
